Victoria – Adjudicator Wally Oppal, K.C., is expected to hear submissions on disciplinary or corrective measures in relation to his finding that Constable Ron Kirkwood (now Sergeant) committed misconduct when he fired ARWEN rounds that led to the 2019 death of Lisa Rauch. VICTORIA –Adjudicator Wally Oppal, K.C., has determined that a Victoria police officer committed misconduct when he fired ARWEN rounds that led to the death of Lisa Rauch. He also determined that the manner and extent to which Constable Ron Kirkwood (now Sergeant) completed his notes of the event did not amount to misconduct. View Release (.pdf)

Victoria – The Public Hearing into the circumstances involving Sergeant Ron Kirkwood of the Victoria Police Department following the death of Ms. Lisa Rauch in 2019 will now reconvene on Friday May 23, 2025, instead of May 26, 2025.
